OTC biology students learn from wildlife professionals





The students enrolled in Stephen White's Advanced Biology II class at Ozarks Technical Community College are finding out it's more than just a seated class.

New characteristics of premature aging protein discovered at Stevens

( Stevens Institute of Technology ) Dr. Joseph Glavy, assistant professor of chemical biology at Stevens Institute of Technology, and a team of student scientists uncovered a disease-related protein outside of its known range. This new look into the workings of the body creates hope for future treatments and other advances in biology and medicine.

Appearance not always enough to identify species

Linnaean taxonomy is still a cornerstone of biology, but modern DNA techniques have erased many of the established boundaries between species. This has made identifying species difficult in practice, which can cause problems, as shown by a researcher from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.

Planning Theory for Practitioners









This book is recommended reading for planners preparing to take the AICP exam. In this new book, Michael Brooks bridges the gap between theory and practice. He describes an original approach-Feedback Strategy-that builds on the strengths of previous planning theories with one big difference: it not only acknowledges but welcomes politics-the bogeyman of real-world planning.
