Question by Peter P:
What are really good alternate reality/apocalyptic books?
Books like The Road and Farenheit 451 are the kinds of alternate reality/apocalyptic/future scenario books I really like. If you could suggest some more with title and author that would be greatly appreciated. Please no Harry Potter or other fairy tale type books. Thanks everyone.

Dies the Fire by S.M. Stirling is actually 2 distinct trilogies about life after a EMP attack. (everything electrical is taken out) but we still have all the knowledge we have today.
Guns of the South by Harry Turtledove, is about if the south had won the Civil War. Mr. Turtledove specializes in alternative history, so watch for his name.
