Question by Sarah.C: How would you respond to a parents concern in a childcare center?
I just want some ideas of how people will respond when a parent comes up with a concern to the childcare center.
Thank you so so much ....

I work part-time in a childcare centre.
If parents have a complaint, they usually talk to the director of the centre about it or directly to the staff. If they talk directly to the staff, it's reported to the director so that she knows.
The parent raises the concern and then the director/staff member will validate the concern (i.e., I understand why you're feeling this way.... or I can understand that you might feel this way).
We then discuss what we can do to make sure that this is resolved - we ask the parent if they have any suggestions and then we try and figure out a solution. The parent is always informed of the solution and what we've done to rectify this concern.
We also have suggestion boxes where parents can fill out a form for suggestions/concern etc that they may have.
:)
