Question by Sapna: What is the best time to ask for reference letter?

I just finished the last class of my degree and I want to ask my professor for a reference letter for law school. I asked another professor and she said she could not give me one because she was too busy, even though I did very well in her class.

I received an A in his class and we had some great conversations. Is it better to ask him right now, or ask him after the holidays? I really need this letter and I can't afford for him to say no. Please let me know the best way to approach this. Thanks for your input.

Ask him for a letter now. Teachers and professors usually need a two week notice
