Is New York Times list the best? Any other good resources? Thank you.

There are many "best seller" lists including those of The New York Times, The London Times, the Chicago Sun, USA Today, LA Times, Publishers Weekly, etc
A more cogent source is book reveww in those same publications, especially the New York Times Review of Books.
